So, I’m just going to say this right now…I’m in LOVE!
Twenty years ago when I stopped drinking dairy everyone was falling head-over-heels for lattes. Luckily I lived in an urban area at the time and could find rice milk at some of the hot coffee shops. But, you know, the foam is very disappointing if it isn’t real milk. And, let’s face it, the foam is my favorite part of a latte!
Fast forward 15 or so years and bullet proof coffee was starting to get trendy. I liked it, but I don’t necessarily like coconut that much…it’ s classified by many as a tree nut, after all, and most of us can’t eat nuts everyday for weeks without some sort of adverse side affect. Also, I like to save coconut oil for my random shakes throughout the week.
Imagine my delight when my husband came home with this little gem he and his clinic friends have been consuming – Brain Octane!
Brain Octane is a MCT (medium chain triglyceride) simply derived from coconut oils and then concentrated. It is extremely effective in raising your ketones without having to add the oil to your everyday smoothie or coffee. More details can be found on their blog, but trust me, raising your ketones is a good thing (should I say, lose fat? enhance your workouts?) It’s just a great clean and efficient energy source!
